ISLAMABAD: Amidst an atmosphere charged with national pride and unwavering resolve, the valiant troops of Pakistan’s Army, Navy, and Air Force put on a spectacular display of discipline, strength, and unity at the Pakistan Day Parade held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Traffic restrictions in place for Pakistan Day ceremony in capital

March 23, Pakistan Day, celebrations were marked by crisp salutes, synchronised march-past, and unwavering precision. As the national flag soared high, and the thunderous roar of fighter jets split the sky, the ceremony stood as a powerful reminder of Pakistan’s military prowess and unyielding commitment to its defence.

President Asif Ali Zardari was the chief guest of the Pakistan Day ceremony. Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also attended the ceremony.

The parade began with troops saluting at the arrival of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar, Chief of the Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

The arrival of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif were also met with a salute from the contingent of the Pakistan Army.

Chief Guest of the Pakistan Day Parade, President Asif Ali Zardari, arrived in a traditional carriage. The arrival of the carriage was announced by blowing a trumpet. President Zardari shook hands with the members of the reception committee. The prime minister, the minister of defense and the chief of the armed forces were present on the stage.

Flypast of the Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force, a magnificent aerial display by the Sher Dil Formation, and flypast of F-16, JF-17 Thunder, J-10C and Mirage aircraft also graced the occasion.

Several foreign dignatories, including ambassadors, attended the ceremony.
