Spy agencies played main role in Pakistan-India war success: Naqvi

LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday said Pakistan’s intelligence agencies played a pivotal role in the victory against India in the recent war, as he paid rich tributes to the silent warriors.

Addressing an event in Lahore, the interior minister said Pakistani spy agencies were acting proactively behind the scene and they exposed every Indian plan.

Naqvi told the gathering that Pakistan was aware of every Indian move only because of the intelligence agencies which, he added, had been vilified by some people.

About Indian domestic affairs, the interior minister said Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Home Minister were the main characters of Pahalgam drama. Their dirty role would lead India to destruction, he added.

He was referring to the Pahalgam attack which Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to attack Pakistan despite the repeated offers made by Islamabad for impartial investigation.

There was clear divide between the Indian political and military leadership, he noted, as he discussed the hawkish stance which the Hindu nationalist BJP government is following.

At the same time, the interior minister repeated the stance that India was clearly involved in terrorism acts in Pakistan, which took advantage of the terrorism in the country for its own nefarious interests.

In this connection, Naqvi said that India was sponsoring Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) — which the US has now designated as a foreign terrorist organisation along with its alias Majeed Brigade.

It’s a developing story. Details to follow.
