KARACHI: Sri Lankan Coast Guard (SLCG) Director General Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana paid a visit to the headquarters of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two maritime agencies.

The visit aimed to foster mutual understanding and collaboration.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Rear Admiral Vithana was given a detailed briefing on the “Roles, Functions & Organization of PMSA.” The discussion centered on matters of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two agencies in maritime security and safety.

Upon his arrival at PMSA headquarters, the Sri Lankan dignitary was accorded a guard of honor. He also paid homage to PMSA’s Shuhada monument by laying a wreath in their honor. Subsequently, he held a meeting with the Director General of PMSA to explore avenues for enhancing joint efforts in maritime security.

The visit underscores the commitment of both countries to strengthen ties and collaborate on maritime security initiatives. It signifies a step forward in promoting maritime safety, cooperation, and coordination between the Sri Lankan Coast Guard and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
