KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released a video to educate the public on how to detect counterfeit 1000 rupee notes.

The video explains the security features of the genuine notes and how to distinguish them from the fake ones.

According to the video, the 1000 rupee note is made of special paper that has a watermark of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait on the front side. Below the portrait, there is another watermark of the denomination numeral. The note also has a security thread that runs vertically on the left side. The thread shows the value of the note and changes colour when viewed from different angles. On the front right side, there is a colour-changing flag that also indicates the value of the note.

The video also reveals some hidden features of the 1000 rupee note, such as a latent image of the denomination numeral on the right side of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait, and a micro-printed numeral on the right side of his sherwani. The note also has a fluorescent strip that glows yellow and turquoise under ultraviolet light.

The SBP has urged the public to check these features before accepting any 1000 rupee note and report any suspicious or fake notes to the authorities. The video is part of the SBP’s efforts to curb the circulation of counterfeit currency and protect the integrity of the national currency.
