Sanjawi strike

SANJAWI: A wheel jam and shutter-down strike is being held in Sanjawi, Balochistan today, echoing similar protests across the province. The strike is organised at the appeal of Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan Chairman Muhammad Khan Achakzai as part of a broader call for political change.

Workers from the All Parties Alliance (APA) have shut down major roadways, including the Sanjawi-Quetta, Sanjawi-Harnai, Sanjawi-Daki, and Sanjawi-Loralai highways, bringing traffic to a standstill. The streets are eerily quiet as transport across the region has come to a halt, and all local businesses have closed their doors in solidarity with the strike.

The protest garnered support from local communities, with the Traders Association joining the movement, urging citizens to participate in the shutdown.

Members of several political parties are also actively involved in the demonstration, including the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP), and Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), among others.

Party workers could be seen patrolling the main highway to ensure the success of the protest.

Local authorities have yet to release an official statement on the impact of the strike, though it is clear that the demonstration has disrupted daily life in the region. The situation remains tense as political leaders continue to rally behind the cause, urging for peaceful resolution and further protests in the coming days.
