String of shootings plague Karachi

KARACHI: Several firing incidents were reported across Karachi in the early hours of Monday.

In one incident near the Intercity Bus Terminal Baldia near Yusuf Goth, a youth was injured during a shootout.

According to sources, the injured was shifted to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment.

The police said that the shooting took place during a robbery attempt.

Similarly, a shootout occurred in what is described as an alleged police encounter near Saba Cinema in New Karachi.

According to the police, one suspect was apprehended by the police, and a pistol, a mobile phone, and cash reportedly confiscated from the accused.

In Landhi Murtaza, gunfire resulted in the death of one person while another was injured near Murtaza Chowrangi in Landhi Town.

According to rescue authorities present on the scene, the injured was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, while the deceased’s body was transported to the morgue.

Meanwhile, one person was injured in a shootout in Metroville, Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

According to the police, the victim was promptly taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attention. Police suspect the incident occurred during a robbery attempt.

In another incident, a civilian sustained injuries from a stray bullet in Azizabad. Rescue authorities are assisting the injured individual.

Hyderabad: Police encounters with suspects

In Hyderabad, a suspect sustained injuries during a police encounter with unknown assailants. The local law enforcement officers encountered the same assailants twice within hours of each incident.

According to the police, one suspect was arrest while his accomplice remains at large. The police said they seized firearms from the suspect.

The injured suspect was then transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
