WEB DESK: Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has called on chief secretaries across Pakistan to implement measures aimed at stabilising retail sugar prices nationwide.
In a meeting of the Sugar Advisory Board held on Tuesday, the minister reviewed current sugar stock levels and price trends. He noted that ex-mills prices of sugar have shown stability in recent months.
Hussain emphasised the provinces’ responsibility in closely monitoring retail sugar prices to ensure they remain stable.
He asserted that maintaining these prices is a key governmental duty and warned that any increase in sugar prices would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The minister’s directive underscores the government’s commitment to controlling sugar prices and preventing any potential fluctuations that could affect consumers.
