Suicide bomber arrested from Lahore

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police arrested a suicide bomber after an alleged encounter on Barki Road in Lahore.

According to the CTD spokesperson, a raid was conducted in the outskirts of Barki based on intelligence reports to arrest two terrorists.

However, the suspects opened fire on the police. During the exchange of fire, one suicide bomber was captured, while the other managed to escape in an injured condition. A search operation has been launched to track down the other terrorist.

The spokesperson added that a suicide jacket, safety fuse wire, and explosives were recovered from the arrested terrorist.

The arrested suicide bomber has been identified as Hafiz Shams, a resident of Balochistan. He was reportedly planning a major attack in Lahore.
