Summer vacations announced for Sindh Schools

Sindh announces summer vacations

KARACHI: Summer vacations have been announced for all public and private educational institutions across Sindh from June 1, 2025.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, schools and colleges will remain closed from June 1 to July 31 on account of summer vacations.

The decision is applicable to both government and private institutions.

Meanwhile the Punjab government has announced that all public and private schools across the province will start summer vacations from May 28 to August 14, in view of the ongoing heatwave.

The decision was approved by Punjab Chief Minister after consultations with the School Education Department and other concerned authorities. A formal notification has also been issued.

“All government and private schools in Punjab will remain closed for summer holidays starting May 28,” the official statement said. The move comes in response to the extreme weather and aims to protect students and school staff.

Until the break begins, schools will follow revised timings from 7:30am to 11:30am. The new schedule is already in effect across the province as an interim safety measure.

A senior official from the School Education Department said the decision was based on health advisories and weather alerts forecasting dangerously high temperatures in the coming days.
