Sunday weather: hot and humid weather, with isolated storms expected

WEB DESK: On Sunday, the weather is expected to be hot and humid across most of the country on Sunday, with strong, gusty winds, and thundershowers likely in parts of Sindh, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, East Balochistan, East Punjab, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, and Kashmir. In Southeast and Lower Sindh, stormy and heavy rain is anticipated at some locations.

Going region by region, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that in Islamabad and its surroundings, the weather will be humid and partly cloudy, with the possibility of light rain in the afternoon or evening, accompanied by strong winds, gusts of wind, and thunder.

Punjab will mostly experience hot and humid conditions, though strong winds and rain with thunder are expected in areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, DG Khan, and Rahim Yar Khan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will have partly cloudy skies, with a chance of rain, strong winds, and thundershowers in Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Balakot, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Orakzai, Hangu, Waziristan, and Kurram.

Sindh will see intermittent rain with strong winds, gusts of wind, and thunder in Karachi, Hyderabad, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot, Matiari, Sanghar, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Nowshehro Firoz, with stormy and heavy rain expected in some areas.

In Balochistan, the weather will generally be hot and humid, though strong winds and thundershowers may occur in Barkhan, Musa Khel, Loralai, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Nasirabad, Jafarabad, Lasbela, Khuzdar, and nearby regions.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy skies are expected, with chances of thunder and rain at a few locations.
