Sunday weather report: extreme heat with thundershowers expected

WEB DESK: According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Sunday the weather will be hot and dry in most parts of the country, while the central and southern regions will be hot and windy.
However, in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper/Central Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, it is expected to remain partly cloudy, with the possibility of strong winds and thundershowers.

Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to be partly cloudy with chance of rain with thundershowers later in the day.
In Punjab, the PMD predicts the weather to be very hot in most districts of the province, but there is a possibility of windstorm. Meanwhile, there might be thundershower at few places including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Lahore. Windy weather and thundershowers are also expected in Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas in the afternoon.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specially Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Balakot, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Bitgram, Malakand, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat, Kurram, and Waziristan can expect partly cloudy conditions with a chance of rain and thundershowers.
In Sindh, Sunday will bring very hot and dry weather in most districts of the province with possibility of windy thunderstorm in the afternoon.

Likewise, in Balochistan weather will remain hot and dry in most districts of the province today, PMD predicts.
However, Kashmir is expected to remain partly cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers at few places. During this time there is also possibility of hailstorm in some areas.
Gilgit-Baltistan will also remain partly cloudy with gusty winds and thundershowers at few places.
