WEB DESK: Hot and dry conditions are expected to dominate the weather across most parts of the country on Sunday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). However, isolated areas in the north, particularly Kashmir and adjoining hilly regions, may receive some relief in the form of rain, gusty winds, and thundershowers during the evening or night. Partly cloudy weather is also likely in these areas.

Going region by region, PMD suggests that, in the federal capital Islamabad, residents should prepare for a hot day, although the afternoon may bring some cloud cover along with gusty winds and possible thundershowers at a few locations.
The heat will also continue to grip Punjab, especially in the flood-affected districts, which are expected to remain hot and dry for the next few days. Despite this, some areas including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujrat could experience isolated rain and thunderstorms later in the day.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and dry conditions are anticipated in most plain districts. Upper parts of the province may see partly cloudy skies, with chances of strong winds and thundershowers in areas such as Chitral, Kohistan, Swat, Battagram, Dir, Abbottabad, Kurram, and Waziristan.
Sindh and Balochistan are also forecast to experience persistent hot and dry weather today. In Balochistan, however, some southern areas may see partly cloudy skies offering minimal respite.

Kashmir and nearby hilly regions are likely to be partly cloudy, with thundershowers expected at a few spots, continuing the region’s recent trend of intermittent rainfall. Similar weather is forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan, although specific details remain limited.
Overall, most parts of the country will continue to face intense heat, with only a few northern and hilly regions expected to see localised showers and brief weather disturbances.
