Suspected monkeypox case reported in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi has reported its first suspected case of monkeypox. Airport sources revealed that a passenger arriving from Saudi Arabia displayed symptoms indicative of the viral infection.
The individual, who exhibited signs consistent with monkeypox, has been promptly transferred to the Sindh Government Hospital in Nipa for further evaluation and treatment.
Officials from the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital have reported that the patient is experiencing itching and has red spots on their body, which are suspected symptoms of monkeypox.
According to hospital authorities, the suspected patient has been transferred to the isolation ward. Confirmation of monkeypox will be possible once the test results are received.
