RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has said that he was always ready for talks, but such talks will be held with those who call the shot.
In an informal talk with journalists in Adiala jail, Imran Khan said that May 9 was “his insurance policy”, and once the May 9 saga is over, both the current government and their politics will unravel.
He said that a judicial commission should be formed to probe the May 9 incidents. “Whenever negotiations are discussed, they always bring up the events of May 9,” he said.
The PTI founder said that it will be an honour for Pakistan if he becomes the Chancellor of Oxford University. “Even if I don’t not become the chancellor, it does not matter,” he said.
“No one in the history of cricket in Pakistan has reached the point I have reached. I am the biggest philanthropist of Pakistan. I have built two major hospitals and two universities, and another university is in the pipeline,” he said.

“For two and a half years, Nawaz Sharif has been criticizing the army and martial laws. Khawaja Asif has spoken negatively about the army, and Ahsan Iqbal has discussed the Hamud-ur-Rehman Commission report. Ahsan Iqbal also said that the army is a state within a state and said that Pakistan was becoming Myanmar,” he said.
“He said that the second entry in the Guinness Book of World Records would be the fact that Nawaz Sharif played with all four umpires and still lost, while the other party was not allowed to participate in the match. They bring up May 9 whenever we have a conversation and then demand an apology for that day. Seventy-four thousand votes were cast to declare Nawaz Sharif the winner.”

Imran Khan said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai was talking with the government, but these talks should be with those who have the authority to make decisions. Engaging with them (government) would mean accepting their electoral cheating.
He said that their upcoming rally on September 8 has three objectives. The first objective is to return the stolen mandate to the PTI. The second objective is to give the country real independence from the occupying group. The third objective is to ensure an independent judiciary in the country. The judiciary is being attacked to retain Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
