Ten Khawarij killed during various operations in KP: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 10 Khawarij terrorists during various operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, on reported presence of Khawarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted in Khulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan. “During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and resultantly, four Khwarij were sent to hell.”

In four separate encounters in North Waziristan district, fire exchange took place between the security forces and khawarij in Datta Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan and Mir Ali. Resultantly, six Khwarij were successfully neutralized.

These operations were conducted on Thursday and Friday, ISPR said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khawarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.

ISPR further said that sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Khawarji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

The security forces have intensified actions against Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists in KP and Balochistan with operations being carried out on almost daily basis. Yesterday (Thursday), security forces had eliminated six Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan district.

Commendations

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating ten Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists during operations in KP.

“Security forces will continue operations until terrorists are completely eliminated. Our resolve to eliminate terrorist elements and defend the country will remain unwavering,” the president said.

He also reiterated the nation’s resolve to completely eliminate Fitna-ul-Khawarij.

The prime minister said, the government and security forces are committed to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.

The interior minister also praised the security forces for eliminating 10 khawarji terrorists, saying that the nation pays tribute to the security forces for thwarting the nefarious designs of the terrorists.

He reiterated that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces.
