TEPA cracks down on illegal signboards and parking violations in Lahore

Liberty Market Gulberg Lahore

LAHORE: In a crackdown targeting illegal signboards and violators of parking regulations, the Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Agency (TEPA) Enforcement Wing took action by removing illegal signboards from 67 properties along MM Alam Road and Ghalib Road in Gulberg, Lahore.

Additionally, seven properties were sealed due to violations of parking rules. This operation is aimed at addressing issues prevalent in one of Lahore’s busiest commercial areas.

Parking congestion has become a common concern in the city, with individuals parking their vehicles wherever space is available, often leading to traffic disruptions.

With Eid festivities approaching, a surge in shopping activity has further exacerbated the situation, resulting in heightened vehicular traffic and limited parking availability.

The proliferation of signboards across Lahore has also been noted, with new installations appearing regularly along major thoroughfares. Some of these signboards are inadequately secured, posing a risk of falling or being blown away by wind, potentially endangering both motorists and pedestrians.

Efforts such as these enforcement actions by TEPA are crucial in maintaining order and safety on Lahore’s roads, particularly during periods of increased activity such as the upcoming Eid celebrations.
