ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman destroying the country.
Speaking at HUM News programme “HUM DEKHEN GEY”, Sanaullah, who is a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said the PTI chairman was already in jail on judicial remand and faced a security threat.
He accused the former prime minister of punishing through a project and said the ones who brought him to power were bigger criminals. He said no country had ever asked to send the PTI chief abroad.
He also said that the PTI chief had lost a copy of the cipher, a classified document. He said making such documents public or losing them was a serious offense and the law would take its course.
Sanaullah said the PTI had violated the law every day from November 25 to May 9 by creating turmoil in the country. He said the opposition had filed many FIRs against the PTI and arrests were part of that.
He also expressed dissatisfaction with the previous government’s performance, saying the IMF agreement had not brought any relief to the people and they could not afford to pay their electricity bills. He said there was no need for IMF approval to give relief to the people to pay bills in instalments.

He said the population census consensus was a significant achievement and new constituencies would be created by February. He said the elections would happen whether they were in 90 days or 150.
He defended former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is facing corruption charges, saying all cases against him were baseless and had no foundation.
