Three policemen suspended for taking bribe from a citizen

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General (IG) Islamabad has suspended three police officers for taking bribe from a citizen.

The three policemen were caught on camera receiving a bribe from a citizen, while manning a checkpost.in G-11.

The citizen claimed that the officials demanded bribe of Rs20,000 at Sector G-11 for not having the documents of the car and threatened him that they would lock the car in the police station if the bribe was not given to them.

The citizen stated that after taking the bribe of Rs10,000 from him he was allowed to leave.

IG Islamabad taking strict action has suspended the three police officers and said unlawful use of authority will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad police spokesperson has said any complaint against the police can be registered at 1715
