PESHAWAR: In a recent development, three high-ranking officials from the Revenue Department have been suspended, after allegations of corrupt practices. The officials are under suspicion for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent land transfer transaction, a statement by the District Administration (DA) department said.
The officials are accused of fake transfer of 1,375 kanal land through a counterfeit RL-2 (transfer of lease) form. The DA also nullified the transfer of property by invalidating the associated transfer documents.
The suspensions come in the wake of growing concerns over unethical conduct within the department. Over the course of the last six months, a total of 13 officials have been suspended on allegations of corruption.
The administration department said that no leniency will be shown towards any public servants found complicit in fraudulent activities.
