LAHORE: Police have managed to trace three suspects involved in the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and a private Iqra Hospital Lahore owner, Dr Shahid Siddique, on Wednesday.
According to police sources, the identified suspects are contract killers—a father, son, and nephew. The suspects are also wanted in multiple other criminal cases.
Investigations revealed that numerous cases against these suspects are registered in both Islamabad and Lahore.
The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend them.

Earlier investigations uncovered a shocking twist, revealing that Dr. Shahid Siddique’s son, Qayyum, allegedly conspired with a friend to plan his father’s murder. Police has also taken Qayyum’s friend Shehryar into custody for co-conspiring the murder. Lahore police said the accused, Qayyum, and Shehryar have been friends for the past eight years, and the vehicle used in the crime was rented from Vehari.
As per the investigation, Shehryar was staying with a friend in Valencia Town.
Before the murder of Dr Shahid Siddique the shooter changed the vehicle’s license plate and replaced it with the original plate after leaving the city, the police probe revealed.
Reports suggest that Qayyum negotiated a deal to have his father killed for Rs 5 million in January, and later arranged for a second attack on Dr. Shahid Siddique for Rs 20 million.
QAYYUM’S GIRLFRIEND ALSO BEING INVESTIGATED
Meanwhile police has also included Qayyum’s girlfriend in the investigation of the murder case
The police investigation revealed that the accused, Qayyum, wanted to marry the girl who has been included in the investigation now.
The police did not confirm the involvement of the girl in the planning of the murder.
QAYYUM A TROUBLED CHILD
According to sources, Qayyum, who has a history of drug addiction, particularly ice had previously orchestrated a theft in his own home a few months ago.
His erratic behaviour and lifestyle had been a constant source of tension within the family.
The police investigation further revealed Dr Siddique had been providing Qayyum with pocket money of Rs 500,000, but Qayyum had recently demanded an increase to Rs 3 million per month.
