Four terrorists killed, three soldiers martyred in Khyber district: ISPR

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistani security forces clashed with militants in three separate encounters in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, the military’s media wing, ISPR, said on Friday.

Four militants were killed during the exchanges of fire, according to the statement. However, during the intense exchange of fire, three soldiers, Havildar Inam Gul, 37 and a resident of District Mianwali; Sepoy Muhammad Imran, 29, a resident of District Tank and Sepoy Iltaf Khan, 22 and a resident of District Mardan, having fought gallantly embraced Shahadat.

A clearance operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants, the ISPR added, reaffirming its commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan army for its successful operation against terrorists in the Tirah Valley, where four militants were eliminated.

The prime minister paid tribute to the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan army, recognizing their endeavour in cleansing the soil of Pakistan from the scourge of terrorism. He specifically paid tribute to Havaldar Inam Gul, Sepoy Mohammad Imran, and Sepoy Altaf Khan, who sacrificed their lives during the operation.

The prime minister offered prayers for the martyrs and expressed his heartfelt condolences to their families, wishing them strength and patience.

“We will continue our fight against terrorism until it is completely eradicated from the country,” said Prime Minister Sharif. He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands united with Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terror.

The prime minister also highlighted that the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan army have always placed their duty above their lives. “The entire Pakistani nation is proud of its martyrs and their families,” he added.
