Eid tragedy: three youths drown in Haripur
According to rescue officials, emergency teams promptly pulled the bodies from the Rawal dam and moved them to a nearby hospital.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Authorities have repeatedly advised the public to avoid swimming in restricted dam areas, especially during the summer.
In Haripur at least three youths drowned on the second day of Eid while swimming in two different incidents.
According to rescue officials, two of them drowned in Tarbela Dam. The incident occurred near Chikahai, where four boys had gone for swimming.
As soon as the incident was reported, a diving team from Rescue 1122 Haripur was dispatched from Station 22 on the instructions.
The team recovered and transferred the bodies of 15-year-old Arsalan, a resident of Malkiar (Haripur), and his friend to the trauma centre.
Initial reports suggested the two boys were swimming in the dam with their brothers and friends when they drowned. Local residents managed to save two boys.
The district administration has already imposed Section 144, banning swimming in the dam.
Police also arrested over 20 youngsters for violating the ban.
