Time has come for Kashmir to join Pakistan: DG ISPR

DG ISPR

PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: More than 2,500 students from different universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held a special session with Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif.

Pashtun students sent a message that anyone who casts a malicious eye on Pakistan will be taught a lesson. Carrying green crescent flags, students chanted slogans of Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad (Pakistan Forever), Pakistan Army Zindabad (Long Live Pakistan Army), and Kashmir bane ga Pakistan (Kashmir will become part of Pakistan) during in the special session.

Addressing the students, DG ISPR said that India had a misconception that it would attack and Pakistan would not respond. “You saw how you all stood behind your country. By the will of Allah, the whole of Pakistan stood as an iron wall. The iron wall proved Modi’s fictitious strategy wrong” DG ISPR said.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said that the Pakistani nation and the army of Pakistan were, and are always, together. He said that the leadership and Army Chief decided to respond to India at 26 locations. “The brigade headquarters whose shelling martyred the seven-year old Irtiza in Muzaffarabad, we destroyed all of it. [We] destroyed the bases of the aircraft that martyred innocent children on the night between May 6 and 7,” the armed forces spokesperson said in his address to students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He added, “Your Pakistani army did not target settlements and places of worship. We want peace and our first priority is peace”. However, he said that if India repeats its misadventures, it will face an even stronger response.

Reiterating the state’s stance on the terrorism incidents in Pakistan, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said that India is behind all the terrorism in the region. “Those who martyr mosques and people have nothing to do with Islam. Terrorists have nothing to do with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakhtun traditions,” DG ISPR said, adding, “Khawarijis seek support from the very India that violates the dignity of Kashmiri women.”

He reaffirmed support for our neighboring Afghanistan, saying that it is “a brotherly, Islamic country”. DG ISPR said to the students, “The Pashtun Afghans are your brothers. The problem lies with their elite who are bought by Indians to be used against Pakistan.”

“We say ask our Afghan brothers to not give space to terrorists in their country and not become an instrument for India,” the army spokesperson said, adding, “Today I say this to the zealous and brave tribes and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, that the time has come for Kashmir to become Pakistan.”
