Islamabad Police intensifies crackdown on tinted windows, fancy registration plates

Tinted windows crackdown in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, authorities in Islamabad, specifically the Capital Police, have ramped up efforts to curb illegal vehicle modifications, particularly targeting fancy registration number plates and tinted windows.

Over the past 24 hours, a total of 1,332 vehicles have faced legal consequences for violating these regulations. The crackdown comes as part of a broader initiative to promote adherence to traffic laws and ensure the safety of commuters on the roads of Islamabad.

One of the key measures taken includes the imposition of a complete ban on the use of fancy number plates and tinted windows. This move aims to eliminate practices that not only violate regulations but also hinder law enforcement efforts.

In addition to the enforcement actions, police officers have been briefed and instructed to refrain from using tinted windows themselves, setting a precedent for compliance with the law among law enforcement personnel.

To further bolster enforcement efforts, Islamabad Capital Police has deployed special checkpoints across strategic locations in the city. These checkpoints serve as a proactive measure to intercept vehicles with illegal modifications and ensure swift enforcement of the law.

Furthermore, authorities have urged citizens to play an active role in reporting any instances of illegal activities related to vehicle modifications.

Individuals can report such incidents through the dedicated helpline number 15 or conveniently through the ICT Police 15 app, facilitating a collaborative approach towards maintaining law and order on the roads.

As the crackdown continues, authorities aim to promote road safety and uphold traffic regulations to create a safer and more secure environment for all road users in Islamabad.
