Torkham border to reopen at 4pm

WEB DESK: Following weeks of border closure between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Torkham border is set to reopen today at 4pm for freight vehicles as well as patients who need to travel to the other side. The border will be reopened owing to the negotiations between Pakistani and Afghan authorities.

According to official sources, the border would also be opened for regular passengers once the IT system is restored.

Torkham calm after overnight fire exchanges

The border had been closed for 26 days due to a dispute over construction at the border.

The Torkham border, a key transit point between Pakistan and Afghanistan, has historically been a focal point of bilateral trade and movement. However, recent developments have strained relations, with both sides adopting a cautious approach to avoid further escalation.
