ISLAMABAD: PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have filed a request for the transfer of their acquittal plea in Toshakhana case 2 to another bench.

The hearing on the acquittal pleas of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case was conducted by Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas of the Islamabad High Court.

Defense Counsel Barrister Salman Safdar and FIA Prosecutor Umair Majeed appeared in court.

During the hearing, Barrister Salman Safdar presenting his arguments, said, “I am submitting my request in court as per my client’s instructions. This case has already been heard by a very senior judge of this High Court.”

Barrister Safdar further argued, “Khawar Manika filed an appeal against the acquittal of the PTI founder in the iddat case, and on the same grounds, the case was transferred to another bench. There are many senior judges in the Islamabad High Court, and I am acting on my client’s instructions.”

He added, “I have a written objection request, but I do not wish to file it. My plea is that the court should not set a new date and instead consider this point carefully.”

Barrister Safdar then formally requested the court to transfer the acquittal plea in the Toshakhana 2 case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to another bench.

Subsequently, Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas adjourned the hearing of the case.
