LAHORE: An initial investigation conducted by a Pakistan Railways’ (PR) team has claimed that the main reason behind Hazara Express’s derailment was fracturing of the track and missing fish plates.
Over 30 people lost their lives and 100 others suffered injuries as Havelian bound Hazara Express derailed near near Sarhari Railway Station in Sindh’s Sanghar district on Sunday.

The team in its report called ‘joint certificate’ in the PR parlance also blamed fault in engine wheel and dilapidated track condition for having caused the accident.
The report, submitted to PR Headquarters Lahore has ruled out any possibility of sabotage or terrorism.
Negligence of civil and mechanical departments of railways has been pointed out in the probe.
