Tri-nation series: Rizwan, Salman Agha smash centuries against South Africa

KARACHI: Pakistan’s innings is under way against South Africa in a crucial match of the tri-nation series.

The standout performances of the innings came from captain Mohammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha, both scoring magnificent centuries.

Rizwan reached his fourth ODI century in 106 balls, smashing seven fours and three sixes.

Salman Ali Agha, on the other hand, brought up his maiden ODI century in 87 balls, hitting 13 boundaries.

Chasing a target of 353, Pakistan had scored 317 for three in 45 overs at the latest update.

South Africa Set 353-Run Target for Pakistan

Earlier, South Africa set a challenging 353-run target for Pakistan in the crucial tri-series match. Winning the toss in Karachi, South Africa opted to bat first and dominated the Pakistani bowlers.

South Africa posted 352 for five, with Heinrich Klaasen top-scoring with 87 runs. Matthew Breetzke contributed 83, while Temba Bavuma added 82 to the total.

Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets, while Naseem Shah and Khushdil Shah picked up one each. One South African batter was run out.

The winner of today’s match will face New Zealand in the final at the same stadium on February 14.
