Tuesday weather: sizzling skies and heavy rainfall

WEB DESK: Hot and humid weather is likely to continue in most parts of the country on Tuesday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.

However, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in upper Punjab, Pothohar region, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places during this period.

Going region by region, PMD said that Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to be partly cloudy, with strong winds and thunderstorms, while heavy rain is also expected at a few places.

In Punjab, the weather is likely to remain hot and humid in most districts of the province. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected at a few places in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Jhang, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas.

Likewise, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tuesday weather is likely to remain hot and humid in most districts. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kurram, Peshawar, Nowshera, Malakand, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, DI Khan and Waziristan. During this period, heavy rain is also expected at a few places in the upper districts.

Sindh might get partly cloudy weather in the coastal areas, but for most districts of the province, PMD predicts hot and humid conditions.

Balochistan, too, will remain hot and humid, with partly cloudy conditions likely in the coastal areas. However, there may be rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in Zhob, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Musakhel and surrounding areas in the evening and night hours.

In Kashmir, it will be partly cloudy with strong winds and thunderstorms at a few places. But heavy rain is also expected at a few places during this period. Gilgit-Baltistan will also be partly cloudy with strong winds and thunderstorms at a few places.
