Two soldiers martyred, 15 terrorists killed in KP operations: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Fifteen militants belonging to the Fitna-Al-Khawarij were killed in three separate operations conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 25-26, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out in Karak district on reported presence of Khawarij.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij location, and resultantly eight khawarij were sent to hell.”

In a separate operation in North Waziristan, four khawarij terrorists were gunned down. However, during an intense exchange of fire, two soldiers — Lance Naik Usman Mohmand, 28, of Charsadda, and Sepoy Imran Khan, 26, of Kurram — embraced martyrdom after fighting bravely.

Meanwhile, ISPR said that another encounter took place in the Gomal Zam area of South Waziristan, where security forces neutralised three militants.

The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed Khawarij, who were allegedly involved in various terrorist activities.

Sanitisation operations are ongoing to clear the areas of any remaining threats, it added.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.,” the ISPR said.
