Two soldiers martyred, 11 terrorists killed in KP operation: ISPR


RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan that killed 11 terrorists and injured seven others, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the neutralised terrorists belonged to the Indian-backed proxy group “Fitna al-Khawarij.”

During the intense exchange of fire, two soldiers — Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah and Lance Naik Jibranullah — embraced martyrdom, the ISPR said.

Major Moiz Abbas Shah, aged 37, hailed from Chakwal and had served the nation for 14 years. He was known for his bravery and had participated in several successful operations. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

The other martyred soldier, Lance Naik Jibranullah, 26, belonged to Bannu and had been serving the army for eight years. He is survived by his wife and three sons.

The ISPR stated that a clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

“Pakistan’s armed forces remain resolute in eradicating Indian-backed terrorism. The sacrifices of our martyrs further strengthen our national resolve,” the ISPR said.

PM pays rich tribute to martyred soldiers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the bravery of security forces for carrying out a successful IBO in South Waziristan.

The prime minister praised the professionalism and courage of the officers and personnel involved in the operation.

Paying tribute to Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah Shaheed and Lance Naik Jibranullah Shaheed, the premier said their sacrifice thwarted the enemy’s malicious designs.

“Alongside the entire nation, I am proud of martyred soldiers and their families. Their sacrifices will not be in vain,” PM Shehbaz said.

He added that the fight against terrorism will continue until the menace is eradicated, reiterating that the nation stands united with its armed forces.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid glowing tribute to the martyred soldiers, calling them the pride of the nation.

“Major Moiz Abbas and Lance Naik Jibranullah laid down their lives for a safer future of the country. The entire nation remembers and honours their ultimate sacrifice,” said Naqvi.

He added that the martyred soldiers courageously thwarted the plans of terrorists sponsored by India and sent 11 militants to their “deserved fate.”

The minister expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and assured them of the nation’s unwavering solidarity.

“These brave sons of the soil are true heroes of the nation,” he said.
