PESHAWAR: In a bid to enhance educational focus and curb distractions, the Department of Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a decisive step by prohibiting the use of mobile phones within school premises.

The directive, dispatched to the Director of Education, underscores the detrimental effects of mobile phone usage on students’ academic performance.

It mandates that teachers and staff refrain from using their phones during school hours.

As a result, teachers are instructed to collect mobile phones from all staff members at the beginning of the school day.

In case of emergencies, staff members are advised to use PTCL landline phones or contact the school head via their designated cell phone.

In addition, the circular emphasizes the importance of obtaining prior approval from the head of the institution before engaging in any form of media-related activities, such as capturing photographs or recording videos within the school premises. This precautionary measure aims to safeguard the privacy and security of students and staff members alike.
