ISLAMABAD: In a bid to guarantee seamless access to essential goods for citizens, the federal government has imposed a ban on strikes, demonstrations, and protests by employees of utility stores across the nation, according to official sources.

The government has implemented the Compulsory Service Act for a duration of six months in utility stores nationwide, following approval by the Federal Cabinet. The primary objective behind this decision is to uphold an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the public through utility stores.

Under the Compulsory Service Act, strikes, demonstrations, and protests have been explicitly prohibited, ensuring that operations at utility stores continue smoothly without disruptions.

Furthermore, the activities of Utility Stores Corporation Unions have been suspended under the purview of this Act. Stringent measures will be taken against individuals found violating the provisions of the Compulsory Service Act, with legal action taken against offenders.
