Official rates notified for vegetables and fruits in Lahore

LAHORE: The Lahore administration has announced the official rates for various vegetables and fruits.

Here are the prices according to the latest rate list released on 15 August 2024:

Vegetable:

– Onions (Grade 1): PKR 118 per kg

– Potatoes: PKR 90 per kg

– Tomatoes: PKR 135 per kg

– Green Chillies: PKR 120 per kg

– Ginger: PKR 600 per kg

– Local Garlic: PKR 390 per kg

– Cucumbers (Farmed): PKR 80 per kg

– Fenugreek: PKR 280 per kg

– Eggplants: PKR 220 per kg

– Cauliflower: PKR 160 per kg

– Turnips: PKR 110 per kg

– Bell Peppers: PKR 200 per kg

– Local Lemons: PKR 460 per kg

– Green Peas: PKR 330 per kg

– Bottle Gourd: PKR 200 per kg

– Chinese Carrots: PKR 90 per kg

– Bitter Gourds: PKR 140 per kg

Fruits:

– Apples (Gacha): PKR 205 per kg

– Apples (Kala Kolu): PKR 400 per kg

– Peaches: PKR 270 per kg

– Guavas: PKR 150 per kg

– Mangoes (Chaunsa): PKR 245 per kg

– Mangoes (Anwar Ratol): PKR 220 per kg

– Pears: PKR 175 per kg

– Jamun: PKR 250 per kg

– Bananas (Grade 1): PKR 150 per dozen

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the Sensitive Price Index (SPI)-based inflation for the week ending August 8, 2024, rose by 0.30 per cent.

This increase was primarily driven by higher prices for several items: onions saw a significant rise of 32.23 per cent, eggs increased by 4.28 per cent, garlic by 3.23 per cent, and LPG by 1.73 per cent.

Additionally, the prices of maash, pulse gram, and chicken rose by 0.97 per cent, 0.95 per cent, and 0.52 per cent, respectively.
