CM Maryam urges quick completion of Walton Road Lahore upgradation project

LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities to expedite and complete the Walton Road remodeling and upgradation project during her visit on Wednesday.

She emphasised, “The ease and convenience of people is our top priority.” Additionally, she instructed that the six-way ADA drain on Walton Road should be opened on both sides by October.

CM Maryam inspected the construction of drains and roads, reaching Walton Road to personally assess the problems faced by the people. She also reviewed the traffic situation at Defence Junction.

The Chief Minister had a detailed overview of the Walton Road upgradation project and attended a special meeting at the site office. During this meeting, COO Mansoor Janjua provided a comprehensive briefing on the project.

CM Maryam was informed, “The construction of the ADA drain has been completed, and two disposal stations will also be constructed.” He further apprised, “An overhead bridge for traffic from Qainchi and Ferozepur to DHA is also nearing completion.”

The Chief Minister directed the authorities to resolve public issues on Walton Road before the monsoon season. She remarked, “The public is facing serious problems. Early completion of the project is inevitable.” She underscored, “All resources should be utilised for the early completion of Walton Road.”

Health Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, and Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah accompanied the Chief Minister. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, COO Brigadier Mansoor Janjua, and other relevant officers were also present.
