Water is Pakistan’s red line, no compromise on Kashmir: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Marshal Asim Munir

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that in the battle for truth, Allah Almighty has helped Pakistan in every possible way, and when a nation unites like an iron wall, no power in the world can bring it down.

Addressing vice-chancellors and senior faculty members from various universities across the country in Islamabad, he said that teachers are Pakistan’s greatest asset. “Whatever I am today is because of my parents and teachers,” he said.

“It is the teachers’ responsibility to shape the character of the next generations of Pakistan, and you must pass on the story of Pakistan to them.”

He stressed that no compromise on Kashmir is possible. “We can never forget Kashmir. India must realise that Pakistan will never abandon Kashmir,” he said.

“India has been trying for decades to suppress the Kashmir issue, but it has failed. Kashmir is a global issue, and India can no longer bury it.”

The Field Marshal further said that water is Pakistan’s red line. “We will not allow any infringement on the basic rights of 240 million Pakistanis. Pakistan will never accept Indian hegemony.”

“Terrorism is India’s internal issue,” he said, adding that the root cause is the growing oppression and prejudice against minorities, especially Muslims.

He also said that the terrorists operating in Balochistan are agents of India and have no connection to the Baloch people. “We must build a Pakistan where institutions operate under the Constitution and law, free from political pressure. Anyone promoting narratives aimed at weakening the state must be rejected.”

A question-and-answer session was also held with the participants, during which they expressed pride in Pakistan and its armed forces and vowed to stand shoulder to shoulder with them.
