RAWALPINDI: Due to recent rains in Islamabad, the water level in Rawal Dam has risen to a dangerous level. In view of this, the administration has opened spillways to release excess water.
The water level in the dam had exceeded its capacity, after which immediate action was taken and spillways were opened to avoid a possible flood situation.
Office of the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner announced the opening of spillways, adding that the magistrate, ambulances, rescue and UC staff are present on different bridges. The deployments have been made to deal with any unforeseen impact of water flow.
