Weather outlook for Sunday: dry spells, heat, and sporadic showers

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted Sunday’s weather to bring a dry outlook across much of the nation, with heat dominating the central and southern regions.

However, residents in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas may experience sporadic rain, alongside partly cloudy skies, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers. Additionally, strong winds or gusts could sweep through the plains.

Going area by area, in Islamabad, the forecast predicts dry conditions prevailing in and around the city.

Across Punjab, the day anticipates dry and sweltering weather in most districts, with potential for strong winds later in the day, particularly in the southern regions. Meanwhile, Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas may encounter partly cloudy skies but remain dry.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is slated for a predominantly dry Sunday, although spots in Kurram, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, and Abbottabad could witness strong winds and thundershowers.

In Sindh, a hot and dry day is expected, with dusty winds forecasted for the afternoon.

Balochistan’s weather prognosis indicates dry conditions for most districts, with heat gripping the southern regions. However, dusty winds are on the horizon for the afternoon, while Chagai and Nushki might see rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

Gilgit-Baltistan is set for partly cloudy skies with gusty winds and thundershowers in isolated areas.

Similarly, in Kashmir, partly cloudy conditions prevail with the possibility of strong winds and thundershowers in some areas.
