Weather today: Rain and thunderstorms expected across Pakistan


Forecasts indicate that various regions across the country will experience rain along with strong winds and the occasional thunderstorms.

ISLAMABAD: Forecasts indicate that various regions across the country will experience rain along with strong winds and the occasional thunderstorms.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad and nearby areas are likely to see partly cloudy conditions, with the potential for strong winds and scattered thunderstorms in certain spots.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather is expected to be predominantly hot and dry. However, heavy winds and thunderstorms are excepted in Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Mardan, Peshawar, Kalam, Kohat, Kirk, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan.

Punjab is also expected to remain largely hot and dry, although isolated thunderstorms and winds could occur in areas including Murree, the Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mainwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafiazabad, Lahroe, SHeikhpura, Okara and Sargodha, with a possibility of rain,

Balochistan and Sindh, hot and dry weather is expected to dominate. Meanwhile, regions across Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are predicted to have partly cloudy skies, with rain an strong winds likely in some areas.
