Weather today: Sunshine, showers and storms on parade!


The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast a mix of weather conditions across the country on Tuesday (today).

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast a mix of weather conditions across the country on Tuesday (today).

As per Met Office, plain regions across Pakistan are expected to remain dry and sunny today, while weather in the upper regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and northern Punjab may see clouds rolling in with chances of rain, winds and thunderstorms.

Even light snowfall is expected high in the mountainous areas.

Islamabad weather

In the capital, residents should prepare for a cloudy morning with a good chance of rain or thunderstorms, with a probability of about 70 per cent.

Balochistan weather

Meanwhile, the country’s largest province is looking at mostly dry weather, although some northern district may experience cloud cover

Weather in Punjab

Punjab is set for a bit of excitement as partly cloudy skies will bring rain, winds and even thunderstorms to areas like Murree, the Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum during morning hours.

Hail could also pop up in isolated spots, while winds are expected to gush over Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sialkot.

The rest of the province is likely to remain dry.

Weather in Sindh

Meanwhile in Sindh, hot and dry conditions are on the horizon for most of the districts.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather

Weather in KP is set for some action, with rain and thunderstorms likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mansehra and Abbottabad.

Isolated rain may also hit Peshawar, Khyber, Mohmand, Swabi, Haripur, Nowshera, Mardan, Kohat, Kurram, Hangu and Karak.

There is a high chance of hailstorms in some regions, too.
