Weather tonight: Rain, thunderstorms expected


Rain and thunderstorm is expected to lash different parts of the country on Saturday (tonight), the Met Office forecast.

ISLAMABAD: Rain and thunderstorm is expected to lash different parts of the country on Saturday (tonight).

The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) issued warning and guidance for several areas, as a “strong westerly” weather system is expected to impact the northern regions of the country.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is expected to experience rain and thunderstorms across different districts, including Chitral, Dir, Swat and Peshawar.

There is a chance of heavy rainfall and even hail in specific regions tonight.

Other regions such as Mardan and Khurram are expected to experience heavy showers from Saturday till Monday.

Weather in Islamabad

Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the surrounding areas are expected to be hit by rain and thunder on Saturday night, with a possible chance of hail.

Punjab weather

Throughout different of the country’s most populous province, heavy rainfall with thunderstorm is predicted. According to the Met Office, hail might strike a few regions, as well.

Sahiwal and its surrounding regions, in particular, can expect heavy showers from Sunday till Tuesday.

Balochistan weather

Quetta and other scattered regions across the largest province can expect rain with heavy thunderstorm on Sunday and Monday.

Weather in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan

Kashmir is likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms predicted across several valleys from Saturday till Tuesday.

Meanwhile, residents in GB should prepare for rain and thunder, with some areas likely to see heavy showers during the same timeframe.

Sindh weather

In contrast, Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry predominantly from Saturday till Tuesday.
