Weather update: Rain predicted across central and northern Pakistan, dust storms in south


The Met Office has predicted heavy showers of rain across northern and central Pakistan, while the southern regions of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to experience dust storms.

ISLAMABAD: The Met Office has predicted heavy showers of rain across northern and central Pakistan, while the southern regions of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to experience dust storms.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMW) forecasts an increase in rainfall accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad, while thunderstorms are expected in several areas of the wider Potohar region.

Across Punjab, rain is predicted for Murree, Guliyat, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, and Khushab.

The Met Office states there are “high chances” of rain in areas across KP including Mansehra, Haripur, Kurram, Bajaur, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Buner, and Malakand.

Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Kashmir are also expected to experience heavy shower of rain.

Meanwhile, most districts of Balochistan are expected to remain dry.

In southern districts of Sindh, there is a possibility of dusty winds blowing.
