LAHORE: In a concerted effort to combat the escalating smog and deteriorating air quality in Lahore, artificial rain was recently induced, prompting heightened curiosity among the populace regarding the intricacies of this intervention.
Comprehensive details have now emerged regarding the aircraft used in executing artificial rain in Lahore and its environs.
Sources reveal that the aircraft employed for this purpose is the Beechcraft King Air C90 model. Originating from the United States, this aircraft is reportedly under the ownership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force.
Providing further insight, the sources indicate that the Beechcraft King Air C90 model is equipped with two engines and boasts a seating capacity for six individuals, with a maximum payload of 500 kg.

Today, as per reports, the aircraft embarked on a cloud seeding mission covering the areas of Lahore and Sheikhupura.
Expanding its scope, the aircraft was also reported to have engaged in cloud seeding operations within the confines of Gujranwala, Mor Eminabad, Muridke, Shahdara, and Kamoki, as part of the comprehensive initiative to address environmental challenges.
