ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a stern warning on Monday night to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers saying that anyone reaching Islamabad’s D-Chowk will not be spared and FIRs will be lodged against all those who will violate the law.
Talking to the media at D-Chowk, Naqvi said action would be taken against those calling for a protest sint-in at D-Chowk. “Politics can wait; focus on the nation’s well-being during these critical times,” he said.
He expressed concern over the condition of a senior police officer injured during clashes, accusing the PTI leaders of inciting violence. “They want dead bodies to fuel their agenda,” Naqvi said. “We have been granted all necessary powers to prevent chaos. Allowing them to come and leaving unchallenged is out of the question.”
Earlier, Naqvi pledged justice for police personnel who have been attacked during the unrest. Referring to a fallen cop, he said, “Mubashir was martyred while fulfilling his duty, and his sacrifice will not go in vain. Those responsible for his death will face severe consequences.”

He said that two Islamabad police officers remain critically injured, and the violence has caused significant losses to Punjab Police. “Protesters fired bullets at our officers, yet we refrained from using lethal force and only responded with tear gas,” Naqvi explained.
He also emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating, “We are fully prepared to safeguard the nation. Shots were fired in front of Rawalpindi police officers, but we exercised restraint to avoid further escalation.”
