It is scheduled to commence at 9:53 am on March 25, peak at 12:12 noon, and conclude at 2:32 pm, lasting 4 hours and 40 minutes.
This lunar eclipse 2024 will come just weeks ahead of the most anticipated total solar eclipse of April 8.
WHAT IS LUNAR ECLIPSE?
When the earth is between the sun and the moon, it causes lunar eclipses by casting a shadow on the moon’s surface. They are an interesting sight to watch because they can only occur during a full moon.
The partial eclipse ends when the moon moves out of the umbra, passing back into the penumbra.
UNDERSTANDING ECLIPSE DYNAMICS
Both lunar and solar eclipses are intricately connected, occurring when the moon aligns with specific nodes of its orbit. During this eclipse season, spanning from March 16 to April 23, celestial mechanics unveil the ballet of shadows and light, showcasing the elegant interplay of cosmic bodies.
