WEB DESK: News reports circulating on social media suggest that there will be eight holidays in educational institutions, including schools, across the country in February due to the General Election scheduled for February 8.

The circulating news reports state that part of the schedule, educational institutions will observe closures on Sunday, February 4, in observance of Kashmir Day on February 5, and during the elections period from February 6 to 10. Additionally, institutions will remain closed again on Sunday, February 11.

The reports suggests that the educational intuitions will reopen on February 12, after eight holidays.

Two public holidays are expected in February – one on February 5 for Kashmir Day and another on February 8 for the general elections. However, there is no truth to the news reports claiming eight holidays for educational institutions in February.
