Woman rescued from drain, girl drowns as heavy rainfall lashes Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Heavy rainfall entered shops in Rawalpindi’s Moti Bazaar, causing water to seep into several establishments.

The downpour led to waterlogged conditions, affecting businesses and causing disruptions in the area.

In a separate incident, a dramatic rescue operation unfolded as a woman was rescued from a drain along Chakrah Road in Raaziq Town. The woman had fallen into the canal, prompting an urgent rescue mission.

Emergency responders successfully extracted her from the water, and she was reported to be safe after the incident.

Meanwhile, a young girl drowned in a drain on Boring Road in Rawalpindi. The search operation was launched after reports of the girl falling into the drain.

Authorities have launched a search and rescue operation to locate and retrieve the girl. The operation is currently under way.
