Meanwhile, citizens are eligible to get the required registration in union council and municipal committee for up to seven years for a birth or death case.

At the same time, the Punjab government has also ended to provide a court degree in the case of late registration of birth or death.

IDENTITY IS A BASIC RIGHT

Maryam, in her comments, described identity as a basic right of every citizen. She expressed her resolve to provide swift service amid the exiting cumbersome bureaucratic process.

She noted that digital birth and death certificates were essential to access different services.

On the other hand, the chief minister also asked the people to ensure timely registration of birth and death cases.

SATISFIED

Earlier in March, a survey had revealed that more than half of citizens of Punjab termed the performance of Maryam as Punjab chief minister better than that of PTI’s Usman Buzdar.

The survey conducted by Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) was a product of over 6,000 citizens from 36 districts of the province. It was conducted between February 3 and 18, 2025.
