Zardari, Sharif, Naqvi laud security forces for successful DI Khan operation

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has paid tribute to security forces for killing nine terrorists in a successful anti-terror operation in Dera Ismail Khan.

The President praised the bravery of the forces for neutralising nine insurgents, including a high-value target, saying that the killing of the terrorist leader is a major success of the security forces.

“Operations will continue until the complete elimination of terrorists,” President Zardari said, “Our commitment to eliminate terrorist elements and defend the country will remain unwavering.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the successful operation of the security forces. He said, “The nation stands with the security forces in the war against terrorism. [We are] determined to completely eliminate all types of terrorism from the country.”

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also issued a statement paying tribute to the successful DI Khan operation. He lauded the security forces for taking timely action and thwarting the evil intentions of terrorists.

He said. “The entire nation recognises the bravery and professionalism of the security forces, and stands with them for the establishment of peace.”

Earlier, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement that nine Khawarijis have been killed in an operation in Takwara area of ​​Dera Ismail Khan. The operation was conducted on intelligence, the ISPR said.

Among the nine terrorists was also Shireen, who was involved in many incidents of terrorism including the attack on Captain Hasnain Akhtar Shaheed, ISPR said.

The operation was carried out by the security forces on the night between Sunday and Monday, April 6-7, the ISPR said.
