Afghanistan’s acting FM invites Pakistani counterpart to Kabul

KABUL: Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has invited Pakistan’s new foreign minister Ishaq Dar to Kabul, Afghan National Television Khamma Press news agency reported.
According to the report, Muttaqi congratulated Ishaq Dar on his appointment as Pakistan’s Foreign Minister during a telephone conversation.

The statement cited by Amir Khan Muttaqi is, “Positive interactions in the region are increasing every day, and practical work on major infrastructure projects at the regional level is on the verge of beginning.”
According to the report of a media outlet, “Both sides agreed on facilitating the necessary facilities for the movement of passengers, patients, and commercial goods.”
Dar, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, also expressed happiness in a note on the social media platform X about receiving a phone call from Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Taliban.
He wrote on his social media platform X that both sides agreed to continue cooperation in establishing fraternal bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister of Pakistan says that expanding cooperation in connectivity, trade, security, counterterrorism, and people-to-people contacts is Pakistan’s top priority, Khamma News reported.

However, the relationship between the Taliban and Pakistan has also faced scrutiny and criticism, particularly regarding accusations of Pakistan providing sanctuary and support to TTP militants.
